Blood pressure is not something that you should take lightly. It is important to monitor your blood pressure because it is the way your heart pumps blood. There are many benefits of having your blood pressure monitored, including prevention of stroke and heart disease.
Your family doctor may want to get a snapshot of your blood pressure trends to help determine if intervention or lifestyle changes may be needed to manage your blood pressure. This can be done with a 24-hour blood pressure monitor.
Patients attend two appointments, 24 hours apart. In the first, you are fitted with a monitor by one of our clinicians. You go about your daily activities for the next 24 hours, recording your activity. When you return for your second appointment, the monitor is removed. The results are downloaded and sent to your family doctor.
We encourage you to follow up on the results by making an appointment with your family doctor.
