We have a number of mental health resource sheets that offer general information and resources for depressionstress and anxiety.

We have also created one page resource sheets for Emergency AssistanceBasic Needs and Immigrant and Refugee Assistance. These handouts provide phone numbers for local agencies that can help you when you are in need.

Our Dietitians put together easy-to-use and maintain resource sheets to assist in making healthy food choices.

The Arthritis Society is Canada’s only not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing and promoting arthritis education, community support and research-based solutions.

Asthma

The Asthma Society of Canada’s Web site is a comprehensive, easy-to-navigate resource about asthma. It is designed to provide Canadians with evidence-based, age appropriate, market tested asthma information, education, support, and management tools.

Cancer

The Canadian Cancer Society is a national, community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the readication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with Cancer.

Cannabis

If you have questions around using cannabis for medical purposes, this is a great Q&A that can answer the most common questions you may have.

There are a number of clinics in the greater Edmonton area for options for those looking to utilize medicinal marijuana under the supervision of a licensed physician and support team.

Cardiovascular Health

The Hypertension Canada website represents the three key organizations in hypertension in Canada: Canadian Hypertension Society, Canadian Hypertension Education Program and the Blood Pressure Canada website.

Diabetes Canada works in communities across the country to promote the health of Canadians and eliminate diabetes through our strong nationwide network of volunteers, employees, healthcare professionals, researchers, partners and supporters.

Eating Disorders

The Bulimia Anorexia Nervosa Association (BANA) is a not-for-profit, registered charity, community-based organization committed to the provision of specialized treatment, education and support services for individuals affected directly and indirectly by eating disorders.

The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by eating disorders.

Mature Women’s Health Clinic

The Mature Women’s Health Clinic at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women is a referral based clinic for woman experiencing menopausal/premenopausal symptoms that are effecting their quality of life.

Mental Health

The Canadian Mental Health Association is a nation-wide, charitable organization that promotes the mental health of all and supports the resilience and recovery of people experiencing mental illness.

Nutrition

The Canada Food Guide is designed to help you and your family know how much food you need, what types of foods are better for you, and the importance of physical activity in your day.

The Eating and Activity Tracker lets you track your day’s food and activity choices and compares them to the guidelines laid out by Health Canada.

Obesity

Edmonton Adult Bariatric Specialty Clinic  is a region-wide initiative focused on helping residents achieve healthy weights for healthy lives. This program addresses the obesity epidemic that exists in our population today and is aimed at helping stop the incidence of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, arthritis and many others.

The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada is a national medical society representing over 3,000 obstetricians/gynaecologists, family physicians, nurses, midwives and allied health professionals in the field of sexual reproductive health.

This class requires a referral from a primary care provider who is a member of the Edmonton North Primary Care Network. 

Steps to get a referral:

  1. Book an appointment with your primary care provider
  2. Ask for a referral to this class
  3. Our staff will contact you once we receive your referral to book you into this class
