Minor Surgery

Minor Surgery

There are literally hundreds of different kinds of lumps, bumps and cysts associated with the skin. Fortunately, the vast majority of these are harmless and painless, but can be alarming when they are noticed for the first time.

Common causes of skin lumps include sebaceous cysts, non-cancerous skin growths such as seborrheic keratosis or neurofibromas, lipomas and skin tags.

The minor surgery clinic at the PCN can provide consultation and perform procedures to care for a number of different lumps, skin growths and more.

This clinic also provides ingrown toe nail removals.

What to expect at your appointment?

During your initial visit to this clinic, you will have a consultation with the doctor who will look at the lump or bump on your skin. Sometimes patients will arrive with concerns that are too complex for this clinic and they need to be referred elsewhere; however, in the majority of cases, we are able to remove a number of these lumps or bumps right in the clinic, under local freezing.

Please Note

Please note that the removal of skin tags is a procedure that is not covered by Alberta heath care and patients will be required to pay for this service.  Details will be discussed with you during your initial consultation.
