The women’s health clinic has a number of female physicians offering services for referred patients, including:
According to the Canadian Cancer Society, an estimated 1,450 Canadian women will be diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2022. An estimated 380 will die from it, which is why cervical cancer screening is so important.
A pap test looks for pre-cancers, cell changes on the cervix that might become cervical cancer if they are not treated properly. Routine pap tests are recommended every three years for women aged 25-69.
With so many options available for birth control these days, it can be difficult to keep up with what is new and what is the most effective, which is why our female doctors also offer birth control counselling. Patients are encouraged to come with their questions so that they can feel confident in choosing the method that is best for them.
